Discover! Creative Careers Month 2025

Novo Theatre is delighted to be taking part in Discover! Creative Careers Month later this year.

In November 2025 we will be taking part in Discover! Creative Careers Month for the third year. The industry-led initiative aims to inspire the future creative industries workforce, providing opportunities for young people aged 11-18, to gain insight into real job roles and pathways from employers through online and in-person events.

Novo Theatre has two opportunities available to book now to take place throughout November:

  • Careers Assembly : highlights how the theatre workforce contains a multitude of skills, from creative roles to construction, finance and even social media.

  • Careers Workshops : Available as a stand-alone workshop or a follow on from our Careers Assembly, this interactive workshop explores the world of working in theatre.

Teachers and careers leaders can find out more and search for other opportunities available on the Discover! Creative Careers website.

There is still time for the North East’s cultural sector to get involved

This is your opportunity to inspire the North East’s future creative industries workforce by sharing insight into roles and career pathways in the industry. Show them just how rewarding working in the creative industries can be, and the breadth of pathways, opportunities and careers that exist within them.

There’s lots of ways you can take part, from inviting students into your workplace, to hosting an online workshop, to giving a talk in your local school.

Let’s collectively inspire the next generation of creatives!

Working closely with Novo Theatre has provided our students with an opportunity to explore career pathways in the creative sector with a particular focus on theatre.

Being a company situated very close to school has helped to break down barriers that students may have had about careers in this sector being mainly found in large cities. As a result, this has increased the confidence of our students to consider this as a viable career pathway.
