Job opportunities at Novo Theatre

Creative Producer

We are looking for an exceptional Creative Producer who thrives on the creative possibilities of making work in unexpected places.

You'll be someone who gets excited about transforming community halls, heritage sites and non-traditional spaces into immersive theatrical experiences, bringing high-quality performance to audiences across Northumberland and beyond.

This role demands someone who can do many things: you'll shape artistic vision alongside our Artistic Director, build partnerships that champion Northumberland stories, manage complex touring logistics, lead freelance teams, and wrestle production budgets into shape. You'll need to be equally comfortable negotiating contracts, conducting site feasibility assessments, problem-solving technical challenges in a draughty village hall, and developing funding applications that secure our creative ambitions.

We want someone who genuinely believes in the power of theatre to reach everyone, particularly those in rural and economically disadvantaged communities. You'll understand that accessibility isn't an afterthought—it's built into everything from how we cast to where we perform. You'll be passionate about developing emerging talent through our Novo Talent programme and committed to sustainable, inclusive working practices.

You'll be resilient, adaptable and creative when faced with the unique challenges of touring and site-specific work. You'll build strong collaborative relationships with artists, venues, funders and community partners. Most importantly, you'll be driven by a desire to create exceptional theatre that matters to people, particularly those who have the least access to cultural experiences. If you're a skilled producer who wants your work to make a genuine difference and you're ready to champion stories from one of England's most overlooked counties, we'd love to hear from you.
